Tubing Head in Oil Gas Drilling

A Tubing Head is a mechanical joint used on crushing oil well drilling structures. It is generally located at the bottom of the wellhead over the wrapper hook and the spool enclosure. The head has a contoured inner surface designed to accept tubing hanger that supports and seals the pipe duct. The top section of the well head assembly is known as the Christmas tree, and is secured to the top of the tubing head by means of a specially designed head adapter. The head is usually provided with different ports for the inclusion of various valves and instruments.

A wellhead is the surface termination arrangement of an underground crude oil well. This group is generally made up of two sections with several parts, that is the tubular head and the wrap casing section, and the Christmas tree. The hook section is designed to support coating ropes and pipes, to terminate the well during the construction phase, and to support the Christmas tree during production. The Christmas tree is a complex system of valves, coils, and instruments so called for its characteristic oblong crucified shape. Its function is to monitor and monitor the well and its output during the production phase.

The tube head is one of the units that make up the bottom section of the wellhead assembly. It is usually the top unit in the group on which the Christmas tree mounts kindly give a specially designed adapter. Located inside the inner section of the main unit is the tubing hanger. The function of these two units is to support and seal the pipe duct, or a string. This is the length of the tube that falls into the well inside the sheath. The hanger and spool casing units are located beneath the tubular head and support the outer casing.

The head tube support function is made by clamping the studs along the top of the unit and the profiled inner surface of the tubing hanger. The hook ensures that the pipe is hydraulically isolated from the annulus, or space between it and the outside casing of the well. The tubing head is also equipped with several ports and fittings used to secure a series of valves and diagnostic tools. Although the basic design of most tube heads are alike, well-specified can design and construct some concentrations of certain chemicals and pressure levels that require material adaptations and the characteristics of the different units.
