Pm - phenolphthalein end point of the mud

Pm means " end point of phenolphthalein mud And it indicates the amount of potassium hydroxide (KOH), caustic soda, cement, etc. in the water-based mud. Pm refers to the amount of acid required to reduce the pH of the slurry to 8.3. Pm test includes the effect of both dissolved and undissolved bases and salts in the drilling fluid. Especially in the lime mud, we use Pm to calculate the ratio of lime insoluble to soluble lime in the filtrate.
